Veterans Day event supports Sussex County Habitat’s Vet Build

LEWES – Sussex County Habitat for Humanity is teaming up with event sponsors Meineke Care Care Center and Finns Fish House and Raw Bar for a special Veterans Day salute.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, the public and car owners are invited to have an oil change and enjoy a barbeque platter in support of the Sussex County Habitat’s Vet Build.

Oil changes are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Meineke Car Care Center on Coastal Highway.

To schedule an oil change call in advance at 827-2054.

Chicken or rib platters, including beans, rolls and pickles, will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at $8 per platter.

All proceeds support SHFH’s Veterans Build program.

On Veterans Day, oil change and platters are free to veterans as a way of saying thanks for their service to America.

Veterans Build is Habitat for Humanity’s national initiative to provide housing solutions and volunteer opportunities to U.S. veterans, military service members and their families.
