Millsboro man dies in crash on Long Neck Road

MILLSBORO – A Millsboro man was killed and a passenger critically injured Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash on Long Neck Road.

Delaware State Police identified the deceased victim as Jeffrey W. Bell, Jr., 42, of Millsboro.

Investigation revealed Mr. Bell was driving a 2001 Pontiac Aztec when he failed to negotiate a curve on Long Neck Road, near Pot-Nets Road.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence post before striking a large tree on the driver’s side, according to state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m.

Mr. Bell, who was not properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jaime E. Taylor, 37, of Millsboro, was properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Beebe Healthcare where she was admitted in critical condition, Cpl. Fournier said.

State police was continuing their investigation into this crash.
