Plenty of fun, attractions at CHEER Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show

Mustang Alley at last year’s CHEER Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show featured 15 Ford Mustangs to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

GEORGETOWN – Spring is in the air, summer is on its way, and it’s time for the 5th Annual CHEER Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show, which will be held Saturday, June 27 at the Warren & Charles Allen CHEER Community Center on Sand Hill Road in Georgetown.

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This fun-filled day will feature a display of classic vehicles both foreign and domestic, a 50/50 raffle, a live and silent auction, a gourmet brunch along with craft and food vendors and a live model airplane display and performance.

The live auction will include items such as a signed autographed jersey, NASCAR autographs and memorabilia and a plane ride to view the Delaware coastline will also be up for grabs.

The live auction begins at 2 p.m.

The ever popular Gourmet Champaign Brunch is back and will be available for $25.  There will also be hobby and craft vendors selling their unique items.

Last year’s event showcased over 70 cars and including Mustangs, Jaguars, Corvettes, Thunderbirds, Ferraris, Renaults, Porsches and the best foreign car winner – a 1911 Breeze Paris.

Those wishing to enter your car, truck or bike this year, there are two different types of registration.

To register your car truck or bike and get two tickets to the Champagne Brunch, the cost is $50 or you can register only your vehicle without brunch tickets, the cost is $25.  If you would like to register your car, truck or bike, contact Florence Mason at 515-3045 or Walt Koopman at 945-7122.

At the conclusion of the show there will be a drawing for “Tuffy,” CHEER’s Toy F150 Ford Truck. This toy truck is a motorized vehicle for children ages five and up.  It holds two children, has a radio, horn, and lights that work.  Raffle tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20 and can be purchased at all CHEER Activity Centers, the CHEER Community Center and at the day of the show.

Organizers are currently looking for event sponsors. Sponsorships range from $250 to $1,000 and include three levels.  All sponsorships are tax deductible:

  • Gold Sponsorship ($1,000) includes your company receiving a plaque, eight CHEER Brunch tickets, advertising in the event program, entry of two vehicles, a table to promote your business and an opportunity to display a business banner;
  • Silver Sponsorship ($500) includes your company receiving a plaque, four CHEER Brunch tickets, advertising in the event program, entry of one vehicles and an opportunity to display a business banner;
  • Bronze Sponsorship ($250) includes your company receiving plaque, two CHEER Brunch tickets, and advertising in the event program.

This 1950 Chevy Farm Truck, owned by State Rep. David Wilson, won “Best Truck in Show” at last year’s CHEER’s Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show.

Organizers are also looking for craft and food vendors.  If you are a vendor that would like to be a part of the car show, the rate for a space is $45 for crafters and $100 for food vendors.

This event is free and open to the public.  Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

All proceeds from the show will support the CHEER Nutrition Program, Meals on Wheels and the Sand Hill Adult Day Program.
